Implant Bridges and Dentures in Killeen, TX
Traditional dental bridges and dentures are typically held in place with surrounding natural teeth or adhesives. However, implant-supported bridges and dentures are fixed to titanium implants that have been integrated with the jawbone. These restorations are similar to traditional options, but provide a more secure and stable solution. At ACE Dental of Killeen, we offer implant-supported bridges and dentures to help patients achieve a stunning, natural-looking smile.

Am I Eligible For Implant-Supported Bridges or Dentures?
The ideal candidate for an implant bridge is someone who is missing multiple teeth due to various factors such as genetics, lifestyle choices, or trauma. Patients must have good periodontal health or undergo a bone augmentation procedure prior to receiving an implant. If you use removable dentures or are missing most of your teeth, you may be interested in implant-supported dentures, which do not require adhesives or soaking and can be brushed like natural teeth. Our implant dentists will assess your oral health to determine if you qualify for either option.
Implant-Supported Bridge or Denture Process
Before receiving implant-supported bridges or dentures, a thorough dental exam and digital imaging will be performed to assess the health of your jawbone. If your jawbone is not strong enough, a bone graft surgery may be required. The implant procedure will vary depending on whether you are getting a bridge or dentures. For implant-supported bridges, two implants will be surgically placed in the jaw and allowed to heal for several months before a custom-made bridge is attached. For implant-supported dentures, four or more implants will be placed in the jaw and covered with a temporary denture during the healing process. After the implants have integrated with the jawbone, custom dentures will be attached and adjusted for a comfortable fit.
Caring For Implant-Supported Bridges and Dentures
Implant-supported bridges and dentures can be cared for like natural teeth with regular brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. Yearly exams and cleanings at ACE Dental of Killeen will be necessary to assess the wear and fit of your restoration. If properly cared for, these restorations can last for several years.
